Project description

Because traditional concrete material has very poor resistance to tensile stress, reinforced structures often experience cracking and spalling, leading to accelerated corrosion of imbedded reinforcement, failure under sever loading, and lack of durability. Technology that may generate a promising solution to this problem is applying fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) material to these dynamically loaded structural components. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the engineering applications, the applicability, and cost-effectiveness of different products that can be used with FRC.
