Project description

The objective of this research is to provide IDOT with geotechnical solutions for highway and pavement applications that will advance current practice, and ensure that the pavements in the State of Illinois are constructed to the necessary levels of performance, economy and durability, without being overly conservative in thickness. The outcomes of this project will be to provide recommendations and draft specifications to update the standard specifications and manuals of IDOT regarding foundation issues that are currently pressing for IDOT.
