Project description

Objective of this research is development of reliable and relatively inexpensive method of improving the scaling resistance of pavement concretes containing fly ash. Additional benefits may include increased resistance to chemical attack by deicing chemicals and increase in mechanical properties of concrete pavements. If successful, the proposed method of increasing scaling resistance of fly ash concrete will allow for extension of the construction window for usage of fly ash while, at the same time, increasing durability of concrete.
